History
The Jaguar MKII, or Mark 2, was built from 1959 to 1969. Compared to its predecessor, it received several improvements, for example disc brakes on all four wheels were now standard, the window areas were enlarged and the bodywork underwent detail improvements. The manual 4-speed gearbox with overdrive could be ordered on request.
From the beginning, the MKII was very successful in various racing series, the most famous being the BTCC (British Touring Car Championship), in which racing legends such as Graham Hill, Bruce McLaren and John Surtees raced the fast four-door car.
Nowadays, the fast limousines are popular racers in the starting field of historic racing events such as the Goodwood Revival or the Hockenheim Historic.

Beautiful car, both inside and out. Very pleasant to drive (apart from the fact that it has no power steering for its age). But clutching and shifting gears, holla! The clutch is so close to the brake that you often have to apply the brakes fully when clutching. Reverse and first gear are only millimetres apart, so you can even reverse at a red light. And shifting gears without grinding is probably only possible with several days of practice. Tip (I only found this out at the very end): shift up at very low revs. Very nice vehicle, but not my favourite car.

Many thanks
We have found Rent a Classic to be a very positive service. It was a very nice time with the Jaguar MKII. The Jaguar MKII was in perfect condition and for me it was a nice trip down memory lane.
The car was in immaculate condition and it was fun to drive. I particularly appreciated the great introduction and also the very proactive communication and detailed instructions by email for picking up and returning the car. We thoroughly enjoyed the day - thank you very much!
